Usman Engineering needed a point-of-sale system that could manage inventory, orders, customers, and receipts on the shop floor — without depending on a stable internet connection. The whole business had to keep moving even when the network did not.
The challenge
Day-to-day retail operations were split across manuals, spreadsheets, and disconnected tools. Stock levels, open orders, customer history, and printed receipts lived in different places — which made errors easy and oversight hard.
A cloud-only product was not an option. The system had to run completely on the local machine, stay reliable offline, and still give the admin a clear view of the whole business.
Beyond the core POS loop, they needed operational extras — like auto backup — so data was protected without asking staff to remember a separate process.

What we built
We built a full desktop POS that runs on the client’s local system. Inventory, orders, customers, and receipts sit in one coherent flow — so staff work from a single source of truth instead of juggling tools.
The admin layer tracks activity across the business: stock movement, order status, customer records, and operational health. Auto backup and supporting features keep the system durable without adding friction to the floor.
Because the stack is local-first (Tauri + Rust + React with SQLite), the app stays fast and usable without internet — while still feeling like a modern product interface.
